It’s the most exciting and most quickly downloaded version of the software we have ever released. “With over 1,000 enhancements and 250 new features, the customer response to DaVinci Resolve 12.5 has been overwhelming. Blackmagic recommends backing up the database before performing the update in case corruption should occur. While complete details of all new features, enhancements and fixes can be found on the Blackmagic Design website, it is most important to note that the 12.5.1 performs an update to the Resolve database. Specific to Resolve Studio is improvement in 3D tools, Dolby Vision support, GPU acceleration for certain ResolveFX plug-ins not supported in the standard (free) version and added controls in the ResolveFX Film Grain plug-in.Īs Resolve continues to evolve its editing capabilities, new features include improved multicam playback, more versatile selection tools, extraction of timeline markers from AAF import logs and clip selection based upon additional flags and markers. New supported formats include Sony X-OCN, DNxHR 444 alpha channels, UHD H.264 on Windows, Red SDK v.6.2.1. mov clips.Īll platforms will see entirely rewritten ResolveFX plug-ins with faster GPU acceleration. Resolve employs its own native 64-bit internal ability to read and write.
That means that Windows users no longer need to install QuickTime player. Most significant for Windows users working with ProRes files is that Resolve no longer requires QuickTime 7 for Windows.
